Japan Women’s Empowerment Professional Football League (WE LEAGUE) is pleased to announce that all 25 Group Stage matches of the 2022-23 WE LEAGUE CUP, starting from Saturday, 20th August, will be streamed live on the official WE LEAGUE YouTube Channel.
The full match will also be available in the archive section to allow more people to be able to watch the WE LEAGUE’s first-ever cup tournament.
Information on broadcast and live streaming for the Final match, on Saturday, 1st October at AJINOMOTO FIELD NISHIGAOKA, Tokyo, will also be announced soon. 。

All 11 club teams are divided into two groups of 6 teams and 5 teams. The first-place team in each group will advance to the Final.

《Match format》
Matches are played for 90 minutes (two 45 minutes halves). If a winner and a loser is not determined by the end of the match, a draw shall be declared.
《Winning Points》
Win: 3 points, Draw: 1 point, Loss: 0 point.
《Determination of annual standings》
At the end of all the league matches, the teams are ranked by their total points. If the teams have the same number of points, their rankings shall be determined in order of the following factors.
1. Goal difference
2. Total number of goals scored
3. The direct results of the matches between the teams concerned
(a: points won, b: goal difference, c: total number of goals scored)
4. Infringement points
5. Drawing of lots (Upon approval by the Executive Committee)
<Final>
Matches are played for 90 minutes (two 45 minutes halves). If a winner and a loser is not determined by the end of the match, the winner will be decided via a penalty shootout. (For the penalty shootout: 5 players from each team will take part. If the winner is not decided, the 6th and subsequent players from each team will take a penalty shot, one by one, until the winning team is decided).
Up to 18 players per team / Of which, up to 5 may be foreign players.
If a player has accumulated two warnings/fouls within the 2022-23 WE LEAGUE CUP, the player will be suspended for one match (the most recent match in the same competition). However, the accumulated warnings/fouls from the Group Stage will not affect participation in the Final match.
Furthermore, the accumulated warnings/fouls in the 2022-23 WE LEAGUE CUP does not affect participation in the 2022-23 Yogibo WE LEAGUE.
