JEF UNITED ICHIHARA CHIBA LADIES launched 8 shots in the first half, but failed to convert any of them, ending the first half with a scoreless draw. In the 53rd minute, OMIYA ARDIJA VENTUS took the lead when #8 Yumi Uetsuji scored a mid-range shot after receiving the ball from #13 Ayu Nakada on the counter. JEF UNITED ICHIHARA CHIBA LADIES exploited OMIYA ARDIJA VENTUS’s poor pass as #10 Miho Kamogawa picked up the ball and scored her third goal of the season to level the score. This match was played between two teams who had just played against each other 3 days ago. The away team, MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES URAWA REDS LADIES, who must win all of their remaining four season matches to have the chance to clinch the first WE LEAGUE trophy, took the lead in the 21st minute when #11 Kiko Seike ran along the right side of the pitch to score the opening goal from a tight angle. At 1-4, ALBIREX NIIGATA LADIES gained momentum in the 72nd minute when #15 Lee Hyokyeong headed home a cross by #10 Megumi Kamionobe, marking Hyokyeong’s first goal in the WE LEAGUE. ALBIREX NIIGATA LADIES continued to attack relentlessly, but were unable to add additional goals. Scoring the most goals in the season so far, MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES URAWA REDS LADIES won their third straight game.

Second Half: 0-1

NOJIMA STELLA KANAGAWA SAGAMIHARA (HOME) were the first to create a key opportunity for themselves in the match. In the 4th minute, #20 Manaka Matsumoto headed the ball from a corner kick by #9 Ami Sugita, but the ball hit the goal post and was deflected away. However, just two minutes later, NIPPON TV TOKYO VERDY BELEZA took the lead when #33 Azusa Iwashimizu passed the ball to #17 Aoba Fujino, who then shot the ball which went through the legs of the opposing defender and ended up in the back of the net. NIPPON TV TOKYO VERDY BELEZA added another goal in the 80th minute by #5 Oto Kanno, earning their first win in four matches.

SANFRECCE HIROSHIMA REGINA vs INAC KOBE LEONESSA

To clinch the First League Champions of the season, INAC KOBE LEONESSA needed to at the very least, tie this match. However, SANFRECCE HIROSHIMA REGINA dominated the pace of the match from the beginning. In the 29th minute, SANFRECCE HIROSHIMA REGINA saw #9 Mami Ueno’s delivery from the right side, which deflected off the crossbar, but volleyed home from the rebound by #11 Yoshino Nakashima. After ending the first half with one goal behind, INAC KOBE LEONESSA broke through on the right side in the 47th minute and #9 Minami Tanaka met a low-driven cross by #17 Yui Narumiya, but unluckily missed the target. Successfully defending Nakashima’s goal, SANFRECCE HIROSHIMA REGINA defeated INAC KOBE LEONESSA (who are still positioned at first place in the league table), and INAC KOBE LEONESSA lost their first game of the season in their 17th match.

AC NAGANO PARCEIRO LADIES vs MYNAVI SENDAI LADIES

First Half: 0-0

Second Half: 1-0

The two teams were evenly matched with both creating scoring opportunities, but the first half ended with no goals at 0-0. The match got moving in the 50th minute, soon after the second half started, when #10 Chise Takizawa of AC NAGANO PARCEIRO LADIES delivered a cross, after a short corner kick, to #25 Rena Okutsu, who ran from the behind to slot the ball home. AC NAGANO PARCEIRO LADIES successfully took the lead with their well-practiced set pieces. MYNAVI SENDAI LADIES also came close to scoring with the attackers including #23 Rina Funaki and #20 Akari Shiraki, but were unable to find the net. AC NAGANO PARCEIRO LADIES clinched their first win at home in the second half of the season at WE LEAGUE.
