Five games of Matchday 11 of 2021-22 Yogibo WE LEAGUE on December 4th are postponed. After playing international friendly in Haag, Netherlands, Nadeshiko Japan returned home on December 1st. Japanese government enforced the quarantine measures the previous day due to new Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus. Japan women’s national team squad are required to isolate themselves 14 days including the first 6 days in government-designated facilities. Owing to this new restriction, national players are not allowed to play this weekend. Originally, they were supposed to be at the games by following strict bubble protocol.
Okajima, WE LEAGUE chair, made a decision to postpone all the games on December 4th, the last WE LEAGUE games in 2021, after discussing in the Executive Committee in accordance with the WE LEAGUE constitutions. Eighteen Japanese and 2 Filipinos are selected to respective national teams from WE LEAGUE. As some clubs lack 5 players at most, fairness of game was taken into consideration.
